During the offseason, LeBron James officially opened the I Promise School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio for at-risk youth. Now, the school is getting honored with its own colorway of the LeBron 16.
The pair sports a black Battleknit 2.0 upper with multicolored yarn weaved throughout. An iridescent gold Swoosh can be seen on the lateral heel. Special branding details include "we are family" written on the left heel and "the LeBron James Family Foundation" accompanied by a crown on the right heel. More tonal text is found on the tongue, which reads "just a kid from Akron." Completing the offering are special graphics on the insole, and a multicolored outsole split into translucent, blue, yellow, and red sections.
The release date for the "I Promise" Nike LeBron 16 is set for Tuesday, Nov. 20 at nike.com and Nike Basketball retailers. Retail will be $185.
