As reported yesterday, Nike's attempt to launch the first wave of sneakers from Virgil Abloh's highly anticipated "The Ten" Collection through online drawings for its New York City and Chicago hubs didn't go as planned. Shortly after going live Thursday, the @NikeNYC Twitter account deleted a tweet directing users to the draw and issued a "stay tuned" statement. Providing customers with some clarity on the mishap and the launch of "The Ten," a Nike spokesperson sent us the following statement.

"Due to technical issues caused by overwhelming demand for “The Ten” collection, we have made the decision to cancel the online draw. We apologize for any inconvenience. Those looking to purchase shoes from the collection will have the opportunity to do so via the Nike SNKRS app at a later date."

The online raffle cancellation only applies to Nike locations in North America. Europe's online draw is still running as scheduled and the product will be available through Nike's wholesale partners. Sole Collector was also informed that all 10 of the sneakers from the collection will launch on SNKRS "very soon," though a specific release date hasn't been announced.
