The college campus of an Under Armour-sponsored school might seem like an unlikely place for a new Adidas Yeezy model to make its first public appearance, but it appears that may be exactly what happened when Kanye West and 2 Chainz stopped by a UCLA practice to get a run in with the Bruins.
Although UCLA has recently made the move from Adidas to Under Armour, West hooped in a sneaker that appears to be a mid-cut version of the Yeezy runner seen in his Season 5 fashion show. It was reported that a Yeezy-designed basketball sneaker would debut in early 2017, so while it's now more than half way through the year, it's possible this could be that sneaker.
Ironically, the Yeezy Season 6 sneaker we've recently seen, rather than the Season 5 model, shares a tooling with an actual basketball shoe in the Adidas KB8 3. It's also worth noting that we've also seen West hoop in Pure Boosts, so just because he was playing basketball in them doesn't necessarily mean they're a basketball sneaker. Stay tuned for more details on what these shoes exactly are as more information becomes available.
