A couple San Francisco Giants started out their season yesterday with what appeared to be footwear tributes to Kobe Bryant.
Left fielder Angel Pagan and right fielder Hunter Pence wore the same Nike Kobe 11s modified with cleats on bottom. The colorway used for the custom is the black/white one that was in the first batch of Kobe 11s to release.
It looks like these pairs are the work of Custom Cleats, which has the same model posted on its website here.
These sort of sneaker to cleat transitions have become increasingly popular in the MLB, with players like Jeremy Guthrie turning Nike classics into cleats.
