adidas Superstar
Description
The adidas Superstar made its debut in 1969 as a low-top version of the adidas Pro Model. The Superstar was originally designed for basketball performance and features a leather upper, a rubber toecap, and a non-marking outsole. Within a couple of years of the sneaker's introduction, a large percentage of amateur and professional basketball athletes adopted the sneaker as their go-to on-court sneaker. Decades later, the Superstar, a.k.a. the "Shelltoe," is no longer used for basketball performance but it is still worn worldwide as it is a very popular sneaker within fashion and sneaker culture.
