Nike debuted the Air Penny signature line for Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, during his Orlando Magic years. The former 1993 number three pick overall was known for being one of the tallest point guards in history. Nike introduced the Air Max Penny 1 “Orlando” in 1995, matching the Magic’s uniform. To this day, these shoes have been released over 20 different times, with the latest release happening in 2014. Nike went ahead and released three more sneakers during his playing career and one afterwards. The Air Penny II released ’96, Air Penny III in ’97, Air Max Penny IV in ’98, and the Air Penny V in 2012. The Air Max Penny I are considered to be the most popular model amongst the series and have released in various colorways.
