Dated 8.22.96, you're looking at one of Tinker Hatfield's original concept sketches for what would become the Air Jordan XIII.
As is often the case during the design and development stage, quite a bit changed.
Tinker initially thought to include a midfoot strap to harness in Michael's game, with the Schoeller Dynatec mesh upper and TPU-injected suede-wrapped midsole both playing huge early roles.
There's no telling what exactly was in store had the brand gone forward with its "J Gas Cushioning" system that Tinker incorporates into this sketch, but it's definitely fun to imagine.
