When Nike terminated its contract with Michael Vick in 2007, it was hard to imagine a day when his signature shoes would return to the market. His line was immediately scrapped and the Zoom Vick V never made it to retail. Since Vick was released from prison in 2009, he’s made great strides in repairing his public image and also reestablished a working relationship with Nike. In fact, things appear to be going so well that Nike will begin re-releasing Vick sneakers next year.

According to The Sneaker Farm, who has been spot on with early news in the past, Nike will start with the popular Zoom Vick 2 in Fall 2015. In addition to the original ‘Atlanta Falcons’ colorway, a new white and pine green look is in the works.

Released in 2005, the Vick II was a somewhat futuristic trainer, highlighted by its layered molded synthetic and leather upper. On the tech side of things, the Vick II was equipped with a double-lasted forefoot for a lockdown fit, an adjustable heel closure and Max Air cushioning.

Vick agreed to an on-field apparel deal with Nike in 2009, before agreeing to a long-term contract in 2011. There’s no other information about the possible retro at the moment, but we’ll keep you updated as new details become available.
