Supreme teams up with Nike to reintroduce the Air Max TL, an archive runner from 1999 that will be re-released for the first time since its original run.

Nike continues to sift through less-heralded archive offerings from the late 90s, with New York City’s Supreme once again being tapped to help out with a reintroduction. This time it’s the Air Max TL (TL Air Max IV, Air Max TL ‘99), a runner that was originally released in 1999 and will be making its very first return to retail.

As usual, Supreme keeps it simple. The first leaked colorway (it’s safe to assume there will be others) sees the shoe fully decked out in white, with only contrasting hits of silver to mark the logo hits. Supreme’s logo can be found on a bright red hang tag and in unique script running across the heel.

For purists, there may be a bit of disappointing news. This take on the Air Max TL sees the shoe lose its original tooling, with the more familiar Air Max 97 unit set in its place. It’s not clear why Nike decided to switch up cushioning for the re-release, but we’ll likely learn more about that move as the official unveiling nears.

Release information for the Supreme x Nike Air Max TL has not yet been announced. Keep an eye out for updates and official word from Supreme in the months ahead.

UPDATE (10/31): Supreme has officially confirmed today that its Nike Air Max 98 TL collection will be released at Supremenewyork.com and at Supreme stores this Thursday, Nov. 3. Supreme locations in Japan will release their pairs on Saturday, Nov. 5.
