Imagine a future where sneaker stores are supplanted by vending machines where robots serve up pairs to eager customers.

That sort of future is part of what inspired Solebox's robot, which is set up in the Berlin boutique and able to deliver footwear to shoppers. The robot was installed partly as a response to the growing power of online sneaker retailers, and seeks to match what an online store can do on an in-store level in terms of automation.

But, the bot hasn't rendered the shop's employees obsolete. Rather than use the tool to fully service the daily retail operations, Solebox has it help out on raffles and the like. Watch how the robot works in the above video from Complex.
