Ray Allen to Make Miami Debut in Air Jordan XVI PE

LeBron and D-Wade won't be the only Heat players debuting special sneakers tonight.

With Dwyane Wade debuting his new Li-Ning signature model and LeBron celebrating his first championship ring with a special make-up of the LeBron 10, it wasn't too likely that the Jordan Brand would keep it simple for Ray Allen's South Beach debut. According to the brand, the 16-year NBA vet will hit the court against his former team in this Player Exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan XVI.

Ray's PE sports a white leather upper with gold patent hits on the toebox and tongue. Gold also works the laces, inner lining and heel, while red handles trim along the shroud and "RAY 34" embroidery. Finishing off the look below is a blue-tinted translucent outsole.

We haven't seen much of the Air Jordan XVI past its original run and a Collezione Pack drop in 2008. Is the Jordan Brand hinting at a future release? Or simply just celebrating Ray's 16-year career?
