Sabrina Ionescu, the All-Star point guard for the New York Liberty, is rumored to be getting her own Nike signature shoe soon.
Per Sole Retriever, Ionescu’s debut signature shoe with the brand is expected to be named Sabrina 1 and will be part of Nike Basketball’s Fall and Holiday 2023 lineup. Details about the sneaker are scarce at the time of writing, but several colorways are expected to hit retail this year, including “New York Liberty,” “Light Bone Laser Orange,” and “Medium Soft Pink” makeups.
Ionescu inked an endorsement deal with Nike in April 2020 and was recently tasked with being the marquee athlete for its inline Nike GT Cut 2 shoe. If the signature line comes to fruition, Ionescu would join Elena Delle Donne as the only current female athletes to have a signature sneaker with the brand.
As of now, the Nike Sabrina 1 has yet to be unveiled by the brand. Keep it locked to Sole Collector for updates in the coming months.
UPDATE (03/16): Nike has officially unveiled Ionescu’s first signature basketball shoe, the Nike Sabrina 1. According to Nike, the silhouette is designed for players who are looking to accelerate and cut quickly on both ends of the court. The sneaker features a special pattern at the upper’s forefoot and eyestays that are inspired by Ionescu’s Romanian heritage. The model is equipped with full-length Nike React cushioning that’s combined with a Zoom Air unit in the forefoot. There’s also a midfoot band system with lockdown cables that help keep the foot secured.
“Ionescu is the first women’s basketball player to deliver a unisex signature collection with Nike” Kerry Sobol, Nike’s VP of global women’s team and organized sports, said. “We are thrilled she will lead the charge with us and continue to change the scope of the game for future generations.
The Nike Sabrina 1 will be released this summer at nike.com and at select Nike Basketball retailers at a starting price of $125.

UPDATE (08/04): Months have passed since Nike unveiled Ionescu’s Sabrina 1 sneaker, and now we finally have a concrete release date for the model. Per the SNKRS release calendar, the "Spark" and "Ionic" colorways will be released via the app on Sept. 1 for $130 each. Grab a closer look at both styles below.
