In a move that should surprise nobody who pays attention to the footwear world, Nike has given the University of Oregon a special pair of sneakers.
While that's an increasingly common event these days, this pair manages to stand out thanks to the details used. The pair, a Nike LeBron Soldier 9, goes beyond the typical NIKEiD-style approach of slapping green and yellow on by using the school's Puddles mascot on the back and a forest print on the straps, the latter referencing the court at Matthew Knight Arena where Oregon's basketball teams play.
The sneakers here belong to the Oregon women's basketball team, but don't be surprised if the men get outfitted with their own PEs as well.
