A traditional Japanese festival will be honored with a forthcoming iteration of the ever-popular Nike Dunk.

Today, a newly leaked image from @PVAsneakers shows a first look at the Setsubun-inspired “Devil” Dunk Low. The pair dons various shades of brown throughout the upper while purple hits appear on the Swoosh and sock liner. The shoe’s standout design is the insole, which features the iconic “Kintoki Throwing Beans at Fleeing Demons” painting from Utagawa Kuniyoshi. The look is completed with a sail midsole and a translucent outsole.

Setsubun is celebrated by families in Japan by throwing roasted soybeans out of their front door a day prior to the start of the spring season, which is done to purify the house and ward off any evil spirits. This year’s festivities will take place on Feb. 3.

As of now, release details for this Setsubun-inspired Nike Dunk Low have not yet been announced by the Swoosh but check back soon to Sole Collector for new developments.

UPDATE (03/28): Nike has officially confirmed on SNKRS that the “Setsubun” Dunk Low will be released on April 11 via the app for $120. Grab a closer look at the Setsubun Festival-inspired colorway below.
