Nike and USA Basketball Announce Chicago World Basketball Festival 2014

From August 13-17, Nike, Jordan Brand, and USA Basketball will be hosting the third-annual World Basketball Festival in Chicago. The event was created in 2010 to celebrate the passion and culture of basketball. 

This years event will feature members of the yet-to-be-announced 2014 USA Basketball Men's National Team as they prepare for the World Cup


“We are pleased to bring the World Basketball Festival to the city of Chicago,” said Michael Jackson, Vice President General Manager of Global Basketball, Nike Brand. “Nike, Jordan Brand and the City of Chicago are forever linked in basketball heritage and we want create a lasting legacy through commitment to Chicago’s youth.”

The opening ceremony will be held on Thursday the 14th, at the 63rd Street Beach House, where fans will be able to hear from players, coaches, and interact with product collections. Anthony Davis will be one of the athletes on help host the events.


“Hosting World Basketball Festival 2014 is a huge step for Chicago basketball," said Davis. "Bringing the World Basketball Festival to Chicago will open people's eyes to all the basketball talent from the city of Chicago.”

The festival will be highlighted by the USA Men's National Team facing off against the 2014 Brazil Men's National Team at 8pm CDT on Saturday the 16th. Be sure to check back for more into, and follow along for full coverage as the World Basketball Festival gets underway.
