Last April, seven-time NBA rebounding champion Dennis Rodman returned to the public eye when he was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. For the emotional ceremony, "The Worm" wore a custom lasered pair of Air Force 1s shipped to him from Nike. If Rodman's enshrinement had been held off for a year, perhaps he could have taken the stage in this revamped version of his old Air Shake Ndestrukt shoe.
Inspired by the shoe Rodman wore during the Chicago Bulls' historic 72-win season, the Air Max Shake Evolve features a ballistic mesh build with an Air Jordan XI-inspired nubuck overlay rand wrapped around the base. The unique side lacing system from the original makes a return, along with a medial hook-and-loop strap for extra security and rear pull-tab for easy entry. What truly makes the Shake Evolve different from the Shake Ndestrukt is the visible 180-Max Air cushioning, which sits atop a new Ndestrukt-inspired rubber outsole.
The pair pictured here features an Anthracite mesh and Stealth Grey nubuck upper, complemented by a white midsole and volt on the laces, Swoosh border, heel embroidery and Max Air unit.
Look for the new Air Max Shake Evolve to surface at retailers like Miami's Mr. R Sports in the coming weeks with additional colorways rolling out over Spring/Summer.
