2022 marks the 35th anniversary of the Air Max 1, the first running sneaker from the brand’s storied Air Max line that launched on March 26, 1987. To commemorate the milestone, the brand will release a special iteration of the sneaker that also falls in line with this month’s Air Max Day celebrations.
Shown here is the forthcoming “La Ville Lumière” Nike Air Max 1, shared by @Wideawakeearthquake on Instagram. The style has obvious nods to Air Max Day, with the ‘3.26’ branding on the tongue tag and throughout the shoe box. In addition, this shoe’s “La Ville Lumière” moniker is a direct translation to Paris’ “City of Light” alias as the city’s Centre Pompidou building served as the inspiration behind the design for the Air Max 1’s exposed Air-Sole unit in the midsole.
Despite an early look, release details for this “La Ville Lumière” Air Max 1 have not yet been announced by the brand but stay tuned to Sole Collector for updates.
