As reported by Complex Sneakers earlier this year, there will be additional colorways of the ‘Big Bubble’ Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 following this month’s launch in the original white and red scheme. Among them will be the original white and royal blue make-up, a pair inspired by Tinker Hatfield’s original sketch, and this version dubbed “Smokey Mauve.”

Going with a more neutral-toned theme on this version of the runner, tan and dark team red nubuck overlays share the upper, along with the familiar white mesh toe, quarter, and collar. The shoe is finished off with an expected white midsole and dark team red outsole.

Horhead Sales says the “Smokey Mauve” Air Max 1 was accidentally shipped to him by Nike instead of the “University Red” pair. There’s not a confirmed release date for this colorway at the moment, but keep an eye out for updates as new details are revealed.

UPDATE (04/03): Additional details about the “Smokey Mauve” Air Max 1 ‘86 OG have emerged. LA-based clothing label Kids of Immigrants partnered with Nike for 2023 Air Max Day to gift Black Market Flea vendors exclusive “Big Bubble” Air Max 1s, with the “Smokey Mauve” colorway being one of the four styles. As indicated on the midsole, the shoe is also limited to 1,986 pairs, and it’s not clear if a standard version will release in the future.
