Since 2007, Nike has honored the Indigenous communities across the US with the release of its annual N7 collection. Continuing that tradition, the brand has unveiled the 2022 N7 sneaker and apparel capsule that’s dropping this month.
According to the Swoosh, this year’s collection is inspired by the cultural traditions of the northern territories and the impact the sport of basketball has had on Native Americans. The footwear consists of the Free Crater Trail Moc, Air Max 95, and the Kyrie 5 Low, with each pair constructed with traditional weaving techniques that are used to create traditional ribbon skirts that are worn during special ceremonies and events.
In addition to the footwear, the collection will include matching T-shirts, a sweater, shorts, a jumpsuit and a shoulder bag.
Since 2009, the Nike N7 Fund has awarded over $8 million in grants to support youth sports, education, and career development in Indigenous communities.
The 2022 Nike N7 collection will be released on June 21 in the United States and Canada at Nike.com and at select Nike and Hibbett stores.
