We’ve already gotten a preview of the New Balance 2002R last month and now, we got a first look at another sneaker from the brand’s forthcoming “Conversations Amongst Us” collection.
Previewed here from Joe Freshgoods’ Instagram post is the previously-unseen “Conversations Amongst Us” New Balance 550 arriving this month. The shoe features an aged look starting with a sail canvas and hairy suede upper while navy trims appear on the ‘N’ branding on the sides. The tonal execution continues with a yellowed tooling underneath.
Last month, New Balance has named Joe Freshgoods as the creative director of the “Conversations Amongst Us” campaign and one of his duties for the project includes highlighting conversations amongst the Black community while promoting new dialogue for all races through a new collection of products.
The New Balance “Conversations Amongst Us” collection will release sometime in April but a specific release date for this 550 style has not yet been announced by the brand. Check back soon to Sole Collector for official updates.
UPDATE (04/12): New Balance has officially announced the “Conversations Amongst Us” collection. Along with the 2002R, the New Balance 550 will release on newbalance.com this Friday, April 15. The 550 is priced at $120.
