The infamous art-company-slash-footwear-purveyor MSCHF has a new version of its Super Normal 2 sneaker releasing tomorrow.
While the model in question isn’t quite as experimental as some of the brand’s latest output such as the backwards BWD, it does stick with MSCHF’s usual theme of boundary pushing. After being sued by Nike in 2021 over its custom Air Max 97 “Satan Shoe” creation with Lil Nas X, MSCHF played up the legal drama by releasing a “Tap3” spin on the Nike Air Force 1.
That energy was carried over into the Air Force 1-reminiscent Super Normal and its current iteration, the Super Normal 2, seen here in an “Orange Milk” colorway. The MSCHF shoe essentially takes the overall profile of the AF1 and distorts each panel enough to (hopefully) avoid any potential concerns over infringing upon Nike’s trade dress.
After having released in a handful of colors already, this MSCHF Super Normal 2 “Orange Milk” colorway will drop on mschf.com and the MSCHF sneakers app tomorrow, May 2 at 2 p.m. ET for a retail price of $170.
