We’re only a few months removed from the release of Mark Gonzales’ Superstar collab and now, the long-tenured Adidas team rider is adding his signature “Shmoo” design onto another popular model.
Today, the brand unveiled the Adidas Ultra Boost DNA by Mark Gonzales, the skater’s first take on the popular running-inspired sneaker. The collab sports a multi-colored Primeknit upper, with reflective accents and the signature “Shmoo” graphic woven into the material. The shoe is also equipped with translucent lacing cages on the sides along with a pair of neon shoelaces. Wrapping up the look is a black Boost midsole and a gum outsole underneath.
“It was exciting for me to take on the Ultra Boost because people who skate like a comfy shoe when they’re not skating. I loved jumping rope in them,” Gonzales said. “I put a lot of pencil work to create the circular design to get a good balance between the Boost and the art, so that both bases were covered.”
