In the spirit of the holidays, Russell Westbrook gave fans a preview of his next signature shoe with Jordan Brand on Christmas.
Pictured here is the Jordan “Why Not?” .5, scheduled to hit shelves in Spring 2022. The lead “Inner City” colorway is designed in collaboration with Westbrook’s fashion label, Honor the Gift. According to the brand, this make-up celebrates his Los Angeles roots and how self-belief can help anyone reach their dreams. It’s worth pointing out that the naming system for Westbrook’s signature line has changed, as they’ve dropped the “Zer0” portion that helped identify the “Why Not?” .5’s predecessors.
The “Why Not? .5” is designed to have the rugged utility look of a trail running shoe, blended with familiar “Why Not?” line motifs such as clashing colors and asymmetrical materials. The shoe features translucent materials on the upper that complement Westbrook’s quick movements, while midfoot bands, an external heel counter, and webbing work together to keep his foot in place. Adding to the design is a large-volume Zoom Air unit at the forefoot of the midsole for energy return and a trail-inspired outsole for maximum traction.
Westbrook also debuted a matching apparel collection that includes a jacket, hoodie, t-shirt, and tearaway pants.
The Jordan “Why Not?” .5 will debut in Spring ‘22 at Nike.com and at select Jordan Brand retailers. Stay tuned to Sole Collector for official updates as the release nears.
