It wasn't easy, but Floyd Mayweather took a step closer to his goal of a perfect 50-0 record when he earned a majority decision victory over Marcos 'El Chino' Maidana last night in Las Vegas.

Staying true to his style, Maidana was aggressive from the jump, making the fight "ugly" and throwing punches in bunches. Most scorers had the fight somewhere in the neighborhood of even through the first half. However, as he usually does, Mayweather made adjustments and closed out the fight with accurate shots and movement. After the full 12 rounds, two judges awarded the fight to Mayweather and one scored it a draw, sending 'Money' to 46-0 and unifying the welterweight belts.

According to CompuBox, Maidana landed more shots than any other fighter has against Mayweather in the 38 bouts of his that they've tracked over the years. Maidana threw a whopping 858 punches, but only landed 221 in comparison to Mayweather landing 230 out of 426. The Maidana camp is talking a September rematch and Mayweather seems to be open to the idea.

Once again, Mayweather was victorious in a pair of custom Reebok boxing boots. Though not an official endorser, he's been wearing the brand's boots since 2009.
