Classic Commercial: Latrell Sprewell for Converse

We have an awesome commercial today featuring "The Landlord" and his CONS Acropolis.

words // Zack Schlemmer

Latrell Sprewell, who entered the NBA in 1992, was the most exciting player since Shawn Kemp.  His passionate, lightning fast play and ferocious dunks made him a fan favorite in Oakland and across the nation.  Early in his career, before eventually wearing almost every shoe brand out there, he was signed up with Converse a.k.a. CONS.  Unfortunately mostly forgotten now, CONS had some of the coolest basketball shoes on the market in the early to mid 90's such as Larry Johnson's and Kevin Johnson's signature lines, as well as models like the Voltage and Destroyer.  CONS was one of the few brands that gave Nike Basketball a run for their money.  CONS eventually faded into obscurity, and Converse was bought out by Nike, but not before producing some of the best kicks of the early 90's.

In this commercial we see "The Landlord" Latrell Sprewell in his signature Acropolis shoe.  With an aggressive design and REACT Juice in the heel, these were the perfect shoe for Sprewell and his trips above the rim.  Would you like to see a return of the classic CONS basketball models?
