Securing the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 on Jan. 31 will be a monumental task for the average sneakerhead. Fortunately, the good folks over at Just Don are offering a chance to lock down a pair ahead of the release date.
There is a catch, though. To reserve a pair, one must purchase a limited edition Just Don x Jordan Brand Wings hat. That may seem harmless, but the lambskin and python headpiece is tagged at a mere $675. Add that to the Air Jordan 2's rumored $275 tag and the bill totals $950, before tax.
While the expensive RSVP has the sneaker community buzzing, there are a few things worth noting. First, the blue-brimmed cap was listed as 'out of stock' almost immediately after Just Don announced the deal. Also, the shoe will probably fetch as much by itself on the aftermarket following the release.
It's a steep price to pay, but the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 can be had by purchasing a cap at justdon.com now.
UPDATE: Word is the 'Just Don' 2 may actually retail for $350.
