Adidas Skateboarding’s latest collab is with team rider Blondey McCoy. The project will include special footwear and apparel that are inspired by ‘80s football and McCoy’s London roots.
At the center of the capsule is the Adidas Gazelle Indoor, McCoy’s reinterpretation of the classic soccer silhouette. The sneaker features a ripstop upper that’s combined with the tooling of the Indoor Super from the ‘80s. The sneaker is offered in a blue-based color scheme as well as an all-grey makeup. In addition to the sneaker, the capsule includes a matching jacket, a jacquard jersey, a sweater, shorts, and socks.
“A lot of people think that us skaters shouldn’t be interested in anything other than skating, I don’t feel that way. I feel the opposite and hope that this continued partnership with Adidas shows that. All of my favorite skaters have borrowed from other sports and cultures—Mark Gonzales in his fencing shoes, for example,” McCoy said. “I’m more interested in making the Gazelle, an indoor football shoe, skateable than I am in making skate shoes. That’s why I skate for Adidas.”
McCoy’s collaborative Adidas Gazelle Indoor will be released in the grey-based colorway this Wednesday, March 30 exclusively at thamesmmxx.com and via the Adidas Confirmed app on April 2. The blue pair along with the apparel will drop on April 20 exclusively at thamesmmxx.com and on April 22 at adidas.com/skateboarding and at select Adidas stockists. The collection retails from $15 to $170.
