After being fortunate enough to pick up two pairs of the adidas Yeezy 750 Boost when it released in Moscow, a sneakerhead by the name of Bagrat set out to make one of them even more special.
Though he currently calls Russia home, Bagrat’s roots are tied to Armenia, where Kanye West and Kim Kardashian visited last month. Once he heard about the famous duo’s visit, he booked a flight to the country in hopes of having Kanye sign his sneakers.
He first took a swing at retrieving the signature when Kim and Kanye were filming for TV, but struck out. The following day, he tried to catch Kanye near hit hotel, but the rapper dipped out the back. Seemingly down on his luck, Bagrat received a phone call from his girlfriend in a nearby city — the Wests were having dinner at her uncle’s restaurant.
This twist of fate led Bagrat to the restaurant, where, after a 2-hour wait, he was finally able to have Kanye sign his Yeezy Boosts. The journey was long, but successful.
Several days later, a friend of Bagrat was able to get the second pair signed. That pair, of course, has already been listed for sale on German sneaker marketplace Klekt.
