Adidas Skateboarding is once again tapping into the Three Stripes' own soccer division to find inspiration for its new Copa Nationale model releasing early next month.

As the name suggests, this performance skate shoe borrows design elements from the popular line of Copa cleats, but its leather and mesh-based upper has been slimmed down for a more modernized look. For enhanced comfort on the board, Cloudfoam is featured at the heel on the midsole for added shock absorption and support. Completing the look is what Adidas is calling the most versatile and advanced modern cup-sole underneath the foot.

"Pulling from Adidas’ sport heritage is extremely vital when designing shoes because of how rich our archives are," says Adidas Skateboarding Footwear Designer, Marcus Taylor. "The inspiration for the Copa revolves around our indoor soccer shoes and that low-profile aesthetic. With that, we also wanted to capture the energy of the early 2000s in skate culture told through a modern yet minimal silhouette that highlights the tech in a smart way."

The latest Adidas Copa Nationale will make its retail debut on as well as at select Adidas Skateboarding stockists on March 1 for a retail price of $90.
