If long-time Nike team member Paul Rodriguez never became a professional skateboarder, chances are that boxing would've likely been his next occupation. Paying homage to his dream, P-Rod and Nike are collaborating on a special iteration of the SB Dunk High that's expected to release this month.

Inspired by his Mexican heritage, this upcoming pair sports a white-based upper that's paired with red and green accents, which is a color palette found on the Mexican flag. Additional details include a championship belt lace locks and a flag-inspired outsole. Check out a first look below.

According to NikeSBorNothing, readers can expect this P-Rod x Nike SB Dunk High to launch on Jan. 18 on Nike.com and at select Nike SB stockists.

UPDATE (01/08): Here's an official look at P-Rod's next Nike SB Dunk High that's releasing via the SNKRS app on Jan. 21 for $125. Skate shops will release the shoe on Jan. 18.
