With Chicago set to host 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend next month, Don C looks to be celebrating his hometown with a new Nike collaboration.

A first look at the upcoming project was shared by Don C's wife Kristen Noel Crawley on Instagram, which is centered around a brand new iteration of his Air Force 1 High hybrid that made its debut in 2017. The silhouette fuses elements from the Air Force 1, Air Force 2, and Air Force 3. This latest pair sports a tonal blue color scheme with red accents found on the sock liner, a mini Swoosh on the toe box, and "Just Don" branding on the heel. The color palette is a nod to the Chicago flag that can be seen stitched behind the tongue.

According to the aforementioned post, the latest Don C x Nike Air Force 1 High is scheduled to release on Feb. 15. Stay tuned to Sole Collector regarding official release details that are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

UPDATE (02/13): Ahead of its scheduled Feb. 15 release date, Don C has partnered with American Express to launch his latest Air Force 1 High starting today at 11 a.m. EST exclusively for AMEX cardholders on amex.co/don-c. Note that you must use American Express cards in order to complete the purchase.

"I call it the 'Amex Blue' Air Force 1," Don C told Sole Collector. "It's inspired by the city of Chicago. Being that it released All-Star Weekend I wanted to pay homage to my city, bring out the spirit of the city, celebrate the city in a way that people not from here can palatably accept it even if you're not from the city of Chicago. The whole world is celebrating the city of Chicago this week and it's going to be the epicenter of culture. We wanted to bring attention through that in a shoe. It really worked out that it's the same brand colors as American Express."

The Chicago native also elaborated on his affinity for sneakers in the Air Force 1 beyond the most well-known model. "I grew up in the '90s, so it was Jordans, it was Force, and it was Flight—that's what ran basketball for the majority of my childhood. People always pay homage to the Air Force 1, but they never bring attention to the Air Force 2, the Air Force 3, Air Force 4, and the Air Force 5, and I loved all those models. When I was given the opportunity to tweak the Air Force 1, I definitely had to bring some panels and characteristics of those models to show light on the whole Force family," Don C said.
