Jordan Brand will reportedly extend its celebrated partnership with Virgil Abloh's Off-White label by releasing collaborative Air Jordan 5s next year.
According to zSneakerheadz, wavegod_thelegend, and kickwhoshow, two new Off-White x Air Jordan 5 styles will arrive in February. While an early look has yet to surface, a mock-up photo suggests that standard Off-White details will be featured, including the trademark red zip tie and "AIR" branding printed on the midsole. If the reports prove to be true, this will mark the second Off-White x Air Jordan model to get a retail release.
The partnership between Off-White and Jordan Brand kicked off in 2017, featuring the launch of a remixed "Chicago" Air Jordan 1 as part of "The Ten" collection. Prototypes of collaborative Air Jordan 4s were also on display at Abloh's 'Figures of Speech' exhibit at MCA Chicago, but the pairs never made it to production.
As of now, two Off-White x Air Jordan 5s are rumored to drop sometime in February but keep it locked to Sole Collector for updates.
UPDATE (01/22): It has been confirmed that Virgil Abloh's Off-White x Air Jordan 5 will release for NBA All-Star Weekend 2020 as part of Jordan Brand's 8x8 collection. It will be released alongside matching apparel on Feb. 15 globally for $225.
Furthermore, last night at a media event, Abloh hinted that there's even more hidden easter eggs on the sneaker.
"Yeah, the hidden details on the 5, is that the final result, I'll sort of reveal once the shoe comes out," Abloh said. "I anticipated that the shoes would leak. All of the shoes that I've been working on, I think, pretty much from the beginning come out before I'm able to release them, initially being frustrated by that. This Jordan 5 is the first shoe where I anticipated it and I think it's ultimately great because it's allowing me to think of like another tier of design of these sneakers, where the final design is something that will come with a how to message, not to simply out of the box and sort of in an image because that that can only be duplicated and replicated when it's the leaked design sort of hits the factory and then goes to multiple factories."
UPDATE (01/24): With a release date now confirmed by Nike, official product images off the Off-White x Air Jordan 5 have surfaced which offer a look at its special packaging and more. Expect this pair to drop globally on Feb. 15 for a retail price of $225. They'll also be releasing in preschool and toddler sizes.
