A longtime Nike Basketball tradition will continue on Kevin Durant's signature line with a tribute to his late Aunt Pearl. Since 2012 on the KD 4, the "Aunt Pearl" colorway has been released in connection with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and has become a staple of Durant's footwear legacy.
The Nike KD 12 "Aunt Pearl" will, as expected, cover the sneaker in various pink shades. There's also the return of the wing strap across the forefoot and the addition of a velvety liner and tongue. Official Aunt Pearl graphics appear on both insoles.
While the "Aunt Pearl" KD releases traditionally drop in February, it's worth noting that leaker US11 is currently listing this as a Christmas colorway. Check back in the coming weeks for official updates.
UPDATE (12/12): Nike has confirmed that the "Aunt Pearl" KD 12 will drop around the holidays on Dec. 26 for $150 from SNKRS and select Nike Basketball retailers. The sneaker combines elements from the "Aunt Pearl" KD 4, KD 5, KD 6, KD 7, KD 9, KD 10, and KD 11 for a "What the" theme.
