The Nike Air Max Triax 96 has officially been confirmed to be part of this year's Doernbecher Freestyle collection, but that's not all that fans can expect for the '90s-era running style in December.

For the first time ever, the Swoosh is bringing back the cult classic design in the original "University Red" and "Varsity Royal" colorways, 23 years since the model's debut. The runner is constructed of a lightweight mesh upper that's supported by both smooth leather and suede overlays, which sits atop an Air Max-cushioned midsole at the underfoot.

Both the "University Red" and "Varsity Royal" Nike Air Max Triax 96 styles return on Dec. 5 via SNKRS and at select Nike Running stockists for $130 each.
