Adidas exec and longtime Yeezy figurehead Jon Wexler has reportedly taken on an official role with Kanye West's brand.

Sources tell Sole Collector that Wexler was recently named General Manager of the Yeezy business unit at Adidas, although no official confirmation has been made by himself or the brand. Per his LinkedIn profile, Wexler most recently worked as Adidas' Vice President of Global Entertainment and Influencer Marketing.

As Vice President of Global Entertainment and Influencer Marketing, Wexler was tasked with working with some of the Three Stripes' biggest collaborators, including West and Pharrell Williams. Largely credited as the person responsible for West's move from Nike to Adidas, Wexler has been a fixture of the Yeezy franchise, regularly promoting the line on his social media channels and serving as a spokesperson in interviews.

West and Wexler's relationship dates back to Kanye's days with Nike, and West once credited Wexler with saving his life. "If you guys want somebody to work with your company, find someone who knows about the person they’re talking to, a guy who’s got some real backstory," West said while accepting the 2015 Footwear News Shoe of the Year award.

Wexler has worked at Adidas for the last 13 years, beginning as Brand Manager in 2006 before working his way up to his current role. Prior to that, he had a brief stint at Converse as Director of Lifestyle Marketing previously worked with Adidas as a Category Manager from 2000 to 2004.

Adidas declined to officially comment on the matter.
