Earlier this year, Nike did some serious reminiscing by bringing back its original Blue Ribbon Sports—the brand's original name—door in Santa Monica. Those who haven't been able to make it to the OG store in person will still have a chance to participate in the action as a new pop-up experience is planned in select cities this month.

As a modernized homage to the bus used by the brand to deliver product in the '60s, Nike has wrapped an electric Volkswagen ID. BUZZ Cargo in Blue Ribbon Sports branding with plans to hit three cities throughout October. The Blue Ribbon Sports: Coast to Coast pop-up will kick off where it all began in Santa Monica on Oct. 5 followed by stops in Chicago and New York City on Oct. 12 and Oct. 15, respectively.

The pop-ups will include history lessons on Nike's roots and the opportunity to donate used shoes, but the biggest draw is exclusive Blue Ribbon Sports sneakers that can't be copped anywhere else. Pairs up for grabs include a Cortez that references the year Nike was founded and a Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2 limited to 3,107 pairs as a nod to the original store's 3107 Pico Boulevard address.
