Fashion Week is quickly becoming as much of a must-follow event for sneakerheads as it is for fashionistas. As brands continue to form partnerships with high fashion houses in an effort to shore up acceptance beyond the street level, designers often use the runway to clue us in on which sneakers are coming down the pipeline. During Fashion Week's current stint in Paris, we've already seen projects from Vetements and Reebok, Sacai and Nike, Raf Simons and Adidas Originals and Comme des Garcons and New Balance, the latter not being CDG's only runway delivery this week.
Spotted during the HOMME Plus show was the previously rumored Comme des Garcons x Air Jordan 1 High. Images of two different colorways have surfaced, black and white-based pairs featuring what appears to be premium leather construction. Additional details include an extended shin-high tongue and belt-like chain-link strap.
Part of the Fall/Winter 2019 show, the early word is that this collaboration will eventually release, but a date has not yet been confirmed by Jordan Brand.
UPDATE (06/09): After making its debut on the runway earlier this year, a detailed look at the Comme des Garcons x Air Jordan 1 High in monochromatic white and black iterations have surfaced thanks to hanzuying. The official release date is currently unknown.
