The "Black Toe" Air Jordan 1 is one of the most popular OG colorways of Michael Jordan's first signature. Last seen in 2016, the color scheme is scheduled to make a return this year with some subtle differences.
This iteration of the "Black Toe" will be a women's exclusive release. It largely remains identical to the original with a white leather upper, black leather overlays, and bright red panels wrapping the heel. However, this particular pair replaces the red leather usually used with a soft satin. The Wings logo traditionally stamped on each lateral ankle collar has also been replaced with a metal version for a more premium touch.
Satin has been used on the Air Jordan 1 before for exclusive colorways. The "Bred," "Royal," and "Shattered Backboard" have all been constructed of the glossy fabric in the past. Aleali May's "Shadow"-inspired collab from 2017 also donned satin accents to resemble a classic Starter jacket from the '90s.
According to @zsneakerheadz, the "Satin Black Toe" Air Jordan 1 is slated to release on August 31 for $160.
UPDATE (07/20): According to py_rates on Instagram, the women's exclusive Air Jordan 1 "Satin Black Toe" has now been moved up to Aug. 17, which is a week from its initial rumored launch date.
UPDATE (07/30): With the release just around the corner, an official look at the "Satin Black Toe" Air Jordan 1 has surfaced. This pair drops next month on Satueday, Aug. 17.
