A brand new Nike model has surfaced that fuses the design language of the Air Max 98 with the Air Max 720. It is dubbed the MX-720-818.

Two colorways have surfaced of the MX-720-818. One sports a red upper with black accents, while the other opts for a black upper with silver detailing. The upper takes on the overall shape of the Air Max 98, but is devoid of most of the retro runner's signature overlays aside from a lone leather oval on the medial side panel. The upper also forgoes its traditional mesh, leather, and suede in favor of nylon covered in tons of contrast stitching. A synthetic mudguard covered in a grid pattern completes the design.

The hybrid design sits atop a semi-translucent midsole, and a large 720-degree Air Max unit with the silhouette's name stamped on the lateral portion. Finishing touches include Swooshes on the lateral side panel and toe box, as well as pull tabs on the tongue and heel.

A release date and pricing for the Nike MX-720-818 have yet to be revealed.
