For a large part of her 15-year career, Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi has frequently worn her own Player Exclusive colorways of LeBron James' signature sneakers. That began in 2008, when James lobbed Taurasi Mercury-inspired flavors of the Zoom LeBron 6. She's been part of Team LeBron ever since and will reportedly have a role next to James in the Space Jam sequel, so it was only right that she made her anticipated 2019 season debut in another eye-catching pair courtesy of the king.
For tonight's game against the Connecticut Sun, her first since back surgery earlier this year, Taurasi took the court in a purple-based Nike LeBron 16 PE, with white leopard faux fur panels that liken the shoes to James' "King" colorways. It's not her only LeBron 16 PE — she's been spotted in another colorway on the bench during previous games, so we'll likely see plenty of heat on her feet this season.
For now, it looks like this pair will remain exclusive to Taurasi and won't release to the general public. We'll inform you if that changes.
