Last year, Jordan Brand unveiled a special "Fab Five" colorway of the Air Jordan 5 referencing the University of Michigan's legendary squad, only handed out to the friends and family of the brand. If you weren't able to get your hands on the exclusive pair, another Wolverines-inspired Air Jordan 5 is rumored to release next summer.
@zSneakerHeadz reports a pair in the works that carry a similar scheme to the aforementioned iteration. Maize and navy hues are seen on the upper, with the signature 'M' logo front and center on the tongue. Unlike the friends and family pair, navy continues onto the midsole, with hits of yellow on the "teeth." Note that the sneaker seen above is a mock-up of what fans can expect to see next year, as official images of the release have yet to surface.
The Air Jordan 5 Retro SP "Michigan" is rumored to arrive on Aug 10, 2019, with an increased retail price of $225. Stay tuned to Sole Collector as more updated become available.
UPDATE (05/03): Images have surfaced of the upcoming "Michigan" Air Jordan 5. The Wolverines-inspired color scheme features a yellow nubuck upper with navy blue detailing. The main detail that can be seen in the latest round of photos is the retro-inspired Team Jordan tag stitched on each heel in place of the usual Jumpman logo. The branding hit is inspired by the tags sewn onto the bottom of Nike football jerseys in the early 2000s.
UPDATE (06/30): According to Footaction's Release Calendar, this "Michigan" Air Jordan 5 has now been pushed up from its initial rumored Aug. 10 release date and is now slated to drop on Jul. 6 for $225.
