Nike has been giving fans of the LeBron James signature line a lot to be excited about these past few months. In particular, they have dropped a fair share of OG colorways of the Zoom LeBron 3 from the superstar's early years as a Cleveland Cavalier. The latest pair getting the retro treatment is the previously unreleased "Houston Oilers" colorway.
This particular pair was a friends and family color scheme produced in 2006 to celebrate that year's NBA All-Star Game taking place in Houston. Like the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4, this pair took inspiration from the team colors of the Houston Oilers NFL franchise that played in H-Town from 1960 to 1996.
The high-top sports a university blue nubuck upper with white patent leather used on the toe box, mudguard, and heel. Red detailing can be seen on the eyelets, Swoosh, tongue branding, and outsole. LeBron's initials "LRJ" etched onto the medial toe area in red and a star stamped into each heel tab complete the special design.
Look for the "Houston Oilers" Nike Zoom LeBron 3 to hit select retailers like Sneakersnstuff on Wednesday, May 1 for $175.
UPDATE (06/15): Following an overseas launch last month, the "Houston Oilers" LeBron 3 QS will be releasing again on June 22, this time on the SNKRS app for $175.
