The Nike Air Monarch 4 is the undisputed king of "dad shoes." It's consistently a best seller for the Swoosh. It's grown into its own meme. It even sparked an entire movement in recent years that led to what seemed like every brand creating their own take on the chunky "dad shoe" intended to be worn unironically. With Father's Day just a few weeks away, Nike has added a new layer to the Air Monarch legacy.
For the upcoming release, Nike has fully leaned into the "dad shoe" title and replaced the model's signature white leather and navy blue accents with, well, the stereotypical dad outfit. The entire upper is dressed in light wash denim complete with a red branding tab to resemble that pair of Levi's your pops rocks effortlessly whether he is cutting the lawn or grilling at the family barbecue.
Golden contrast stitching, a brown leather tongue tab, and matching Swoosh help the upper to further resemble the jeans from the iconic denim company. Navy blue hiker laces, a white midsole, and gum bottoms complete the design. If that wasn't enough, the insole bears an all-over floral print that likely mimics the Hawaiian shirt your dad packed to wear on every summer vacation growing up to really hammer home the theme.
An exact release date has yet to be revealed for the "Father's Day 2019" Nike Air Monarch 4, but check out official images of the thematic pair below.
