Back in February, Michael Jordan was spotted in a never-before-seen pair of Air Jordan 1s with quilted uppers at NBA All-Star weekend in Charlotte. Anyone who was hoping to get their hands on a pair now has the chance.
The quilted makeup was designed by Jordan himself in celebration of Charlotte hosting this year's NBA All-Star festivities. Quilted leather wraps the toe and heel, while traditional leather is used to construct the rest of the pair. Tonal black and white pairs were both created. Each comes complete with a silver NBA All-Star hang tag and special tongue tag donning a logo inspired by the 1991 NBA All-Star Game branding.
Only 300 pairs in total have been made. Of those 300, 65 have been put up for auction and another 10 will be available via raffle. Each auction will be for either the white or black colorway in a specific size, begin at $200, and have a "buy now" option of $20,000. Raffle entries will cost $10 per entry. Auctions and raffles will run until May 23 at 5 p.m. EST.
All of the proceeds from the auctions and raffles will be donated to the Charlotte Hornets Foundation. Check out more details about the special pairs here. Anyone looking to acquire the limited Air Jordan 1 can place their bids here.
