Adidas has updated the AlphaEdge 4D for Spring/Summer 2019. The latest trio of colorways for the futuristic runner is highlighted by a project with frequent and sustainable collaborator, Parley.
The new-and-improved AlphaEdge 4D sports a Primeknit upper partially constructed of upcycled Parley Ocean Plastic. Zoned forging provides stability and support in key areas, similar to the design of the original AlphaBounce. The lightweight upper sits atop a 4D-printed midsole crafted using digital light synthesis and Continental rubber outsole for maximum traction on various terrains. This particular colorway is a monochromatic execution covered in the signature Aero Green hue of the 4D midsole.
"Adidas 4D continues to be our most ambitious midsole and having seen the success of the AlphaEdge 4D to date we are excited that we can now increase availability thanks to our innovative new manufacturing process, allowing athletes the world over to feel the future of performance footwear—this is what happens when sport meets Silicon Valley," said Marco Kormann, Director of Future Technology Innovation at Adidas in an official press release.
Along with the Parley colorway, the white and black colorways of the runner will also be returning with their new-and-improved uppers. All three new pairs of the Adidas AlphaEdge 4D are slated to arrive at adidas.com and other select retailers on Friday, May 31 for $300 each.
