Mamba Day, Nike's annual celebration marking the day Kobe Bryant played his last game in the NBA, is right around the corner. It looks like Nike could be releasing a special colorway of the PG 3 to celebrate the occasion.
Images have not surfaced of the pair just yet, but Finish Line's official release calendar gives some hints at what to expect. The colorway is listed as "Multi-Color/Opti Yellow." The multi-colored component is a mystery, but yellow could certainly be an obvious nod to Kobe's former team, the Los Angeles Lakers.
This is not the first time that Paul George's signature line has been given a Black Mamba-inspired colorway. The PG 2 also released in a special makeup to celebrate Mamba Day 2018 that was inspired by the "Prelude Pack" Kobe 6.
The "Mamba Mentality" Nike PG 3 is currently slated to release on April 13 for $120. It is unclear if other Nike Basketball signature models will also be given a celebratory remix for Mamba Day 2019.
UPDATE (04/03): A first look at the "Mamba Mentality" Nike PG 3 has surfaced, courtesy of @US_11 on Twitter. While the colorway's exact inspiration has still not been revealed, the pattern displayed across various panels on the upper slightly resembles the graphic covering the OG colorway of the Nike Kobe 8.
