As reported around this time last month, the Nike KD 12 is due for a big push this spring, and today brings a first look at the model.
Surfacing in a simple "Black/Pure Platinum-White" colorway, the KD 12 appears to switch things up from the Flyknit construction seen on previous Kevin Durant signature models, this time around opting for a synthetic and mesh build which makes use of quad-axial Flywire for "multi-directional containment." If this sounds familiar, it may be because the aesthetically similar Adapt BB is advertised as using quad-axial mesh as part of its self-lacing setup. Other details include a large, obscured Swoosh and a translucent rubber outsole.
Expect this colorway and several more KD 12s to begin hitting retailers soon for a retail price of $150.
UPDATE (03/15): Nike has officially revealed the Nike KD 12. Kevin Durant’s 12th signature model is the first Nike Basketball model to feature full-length Zoom Air cushioning stitched directly to the upper. The “Black/White” colorway will release on April 6 for $150.
