In celebration of Air Max Day 2019, Nike has revealed two upcoming collaborations with some of the most popular streetwear designers around today: Cactus Plant Flea Market and Heron Preston.
Cactus Plant Flea Market put its spin on the Air VaporMax 2019. An earth-toned mesh upper features details like black welded seams with jagged stitching, a yellow hit on the heel, retro-inspired logo on the tongue, and a cushy VaporMax midsole that fades from clear to red. "IT." can also be seen scrawled on the lateral heel in white, a nod to Nike's iconic "Just Do It" slogan. This pair's main feature is the crudely crafted teal Swoosh held in place by black threading on the side panel, a look very indicative of CPFM's typical design language.
Heron Preston took his collab in another direction with a hybrid model, the Air Max 720/95. This shoe takes the upper of the Air Max 95 and sits it atop the large Air bubble of the Air Max 720 to create a brand new lifestyle design. The pair being teased sports a multi-toned orange upper with black mini Swooshes dispersed across the side panel. Preston's model will also be made available on Nike's "By You" service to allow for personal customization.
The Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air VaporMax 2019 is slated to release exclusively at Dover Street Market locations on May 14. Heron Preston's Air Max 720/95 will hit the Nike By You platform starting on April 15. Nike also announced the worldwide launch for two more designer collabs, the Clot x Nike Zoom Haven 97 and Atmos x Nike Air Max2 Light. The pairs will release on May 8 and April 5, respectively.
