Last night, LeBron James returned to the floor for the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time in over a month since suffering a left groin injury on Christmas Day. Fans of James' Nike signature line also get some good news this week as the first photos of the LeBron 16 Low have surfaced, courtesy of @J23app on Twitter.
The LeBron 16 is already a fairly low-cut model to begin with, so not a lot has been switched up for its low-top iteration. A one-piece bootie is covered in a mesh overlay to create the upper. The tongue and heel also appear to have been slightly shortened, and the heel pull tab has been removed. This pair's heel counter and midsole setup are borrowed directly from its predecessor. For branding, the 16 Low sports small Swoosh embroidery on the lateral toe, King James' signature lion's head stamped on the tongue, and a remixed crown logo debossed into the heel. Special insoles that read "LeBron" on the left and "James" on the right complete the design.
This colorway of the LeBron 16 Low features a black upper, white branding, a tan suede heel piece, red and pink insoles, and icy sections on the outsole. An exact release date and pricing for LeBron's next model have yet to be revealed.
