Back in December 2018, reports surfaced that Kawhi Leonard had inked a brand new endorsement deal with New Balance. Leonard has been rocking some New Balance gear walking into the arena ever since, but the deal was never officially announced, until now.
New Balance took to the official @nbhoops Twitter this morning to drop a teaser for its new basketball sneaker featuring none other than the Toronto Raptors superstar. The 40-second clip plays off of Leonard's reserved demeanor by ending with the phrase, "Kawhi doesn't need to get your attention. He already has it," in reference to his stellar play on the court.
Other than officially pairing Leonard with the brand, the trailer also announces that New Balance will be debuting its brand new performance model during NBA All-Star weekend. Official images have yet to surface, but chances are Leonard will be rocking something a little more extravagant than Matt Bonner's infamous PEs.
Stay tuned as more details become available regarding the revival of New Balance's basketball division this weekend.
